Summary:A monitor device switches a display mode to be applied from a first display mode to a second display mode, when a speed of a vehicle reaches a first threshold or higher during the first display mode being applied, while switching the display mode to be applied from the second display mode to the first display mode, when the speed reaches a second threshold or lower during the second display mode being applied. In addition, the monitor device switches the display mode to be applied back to the first display mode, when an average speed of the vehicle in a period after switching from the first display mode to the second display mode is lower than the first threshold. The monitor device causes a display device to display an image of an area around the vehicle, the image being generated in accordance with the display mode to be applied.
