Summary:Apparatus and methods for providing Uni-polar Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (UPEMF) therapy for various medical conditions. The apparatus includes a unit having an electromagnetic field producing coil and a focusing subassembly in it. The coil is arranged to be energized by associated circuitry to produce a pulsating electromagnetic field. The focusing subassembly includes sets of focusing magnets to focus the lines of flux emanating from one pole of the coil so that they are concentrated and extend for some distance generally parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the coil. A Mu metal body is provided around the other pole of the unit and around portions of the focusing magnets.
