Summary:The present disclosure provides a process for the reduction of residual acidity of halogenated polymer. The process involves treating the halogenated polymer to a physical process such as rotary vacuum drying and then neutralizing the treated halogenated polymer with alkaline metal salt solutions. The process requires less quantity of an economic neutralizing agent/base during chemical treatment, thus improving process economy without prejudicing quality of the final halogenated polymer.
