Summary:A method and apparatus are provided for displaying a three dimensional (3D) image in a mobile communication terminal. The method includes displaying an image comprising at least one object; sensing a touch gesture selecting an object for changing a three dimensional depth of the object among the at least one object with the image displayed; checking the three dimensional depth of the selected object; determining the three dimensional depth of the selected object based on the checked three dimensional depth; and displaying the selected object reflecting the determined three dimensional depth.
