Summary:Systems, methods, and software are disclosed for implementing real-time code instrumentation. In at least one implementation, an instrumentation environment detects a request initiated in an application environment to retrieve at least a portion of an application program for execution in the application environment. The instrumentation environment responsively retrieves application code associated with the application program from a code environment and instruments the application code to generate instrumented code (when operating in an instrumentation mode). The instrumented code may then be included in a reply to the request initiated by the application environment.
