Summary:The present disclosure relates to an immersion tolerant electrical energy storage system for use with electric vehicles. The energy storage system is equipped with a sealed battery unit and a sealed heat exchanger that cooperates to inhibit the intrusion of fluids and other contaminants into the system. The ability to limit intrusion of such fluids and contaminants provides improved service life for the batteries in the battery unit and components of the thermal control system.
