Summary:The compositions and methods of this invention relate to skin care compositions containing: (a) hydrophobic and hydrophilic, linear cellulose particles having an average length of from about 1 to about 1000 μm, a particle aspect ratio from about 1000 to about 2 and a thickness of from about 1 to about 500 μm; (b) amphiphilic linear cellulose particles derived from sources selected from the following group: citrus pulp, sugar beet pulp, banana pulp, mango pulp, apple pulp, passion fruit pulp and tomato pulp and the like, said particles having an average size of from about 1 to about 1000 μm, a particle aspect ratio from about 1000 to about 2 and a thickness of from about 1 to about 500 μm; wherein the ratio of ingredient (b) to ingredient (a) is from about 1:10 to about 10:1; and a cosmetically acceptable carrier.
