Summary:The invention relates to a device for capturing and displaying images of objects, in particular digital binoculars (1), a digital camera (14) or a digital video camera, the device comprising: a digital storage, medium (24, 27) including a database, which includes elements including meta information (10, 20) for, objects, in particular geographic data and/or names of a landscape, a mountain range or a building or names of plants or animals; a comparison device (33); and a superposition device (34) for superimposing meta information (10, 20) selected by the comparison device (33) as a function of the objects captured in image capture devices (2, 15) into image display devices (3, 16). The invention further relates to a method for capturing and displaying an image from such a device.
