Summary:Systems, methods, and apparatus are herein disclosed for controlling a display brightness based on user action or user interest in the display. In particular, the display brightness can be dimmed upon identification of a first marker indicative of a user action such as a request for a webpage. The brightness of the display can be increased or returned to its original state upon identification of a second marker indicative of completion of a user equipment activity triggered by the user action. In some embodiments, another brightness state between these two can be used as an intermediary and is triggered when a third marker, indicative of a progression of the user equipment activity, is identified.
