Summary: | Provided is a walking azimuth detection device capable of quickly and accurately detecting a walking azimuth at the start of walker's walking. The device (700) detects a walking azimuth of a person and has an acceleration component calculation unit (730) for obtaining a vertical component and a horizontal component of an acceleration of the person and a walking azimuth calculation unit (770) for determining the walking azimuth on the basis of the time sequence data of the vertical component and the horizontal component. When the vertical component becomes local minimum immediately after the person has been in a stop state, the walking azimuth calculation unit (770) takes the direction of the acceleration as the walking azimuth. |
