Summary:The invention relates to an injection device (2), in particular for injecting fluid into an exhaust tract of an internal combustion engine, having a valve unit which comprises a valve needle (6), an injection chamber (38) having at least one injection opening (8), and a control chamber (36), wherein the injection device (2) is designed so that a pressure differential between the injection chamber (38) and the control chamber (36) brings about a displacement of the valve needle (6) between an open position in which the valve needle (6) releases a fluid flow (through the injection opening (8), and a closed position in which the valve needle (6) closes off the injection opening (8). The injection device (2) also has a pump unit integrated in the injection device (2). The pump unit is designed so as to draw in fluid from the fluid inlet (32) during operation and to provide said fluid to the valve unit under increased pressure.
