Summary: | The life of an actuator such as a turbocharger VTG actuator is extended by reducing heat conduction from the turbine housing along the control linkage to the actuator link and into the actuator, thereby protecting sensitive electronic components. To this end, the control linkage may be equipped with cooling fins, or be made hollow rather than solid, or be made of a thermal energy retarding material in order to retard heat from the turbine housing assembly reaching the actuator. |
