Summary:Provided are an image transmitting apparatus and method, and an image receiving apparatus and method. The image transmitting apparatus includes: a video processor which converts a first video signal, including a left-eye image and a right-eye image corresponding to a frame of a three-dimensional (3D) image, into a second video signal by increasing a number of data bits per pixel of a first video signal and merging two pieces of pixel information respectively corresponding to the left-eye image and the right-eye image into one piece of pixel information; and a video output unit which transmits the second video signal.
