Summary: | The present invention relates to quenched fluorescent probes which arc activated by biochemical processes. The probes are designed such that intramolecular quenching occurs in the unactivated probe, but that the quencher moieties are cleaved from the probe under defined conditions rendering the probe fluorescent. Also disclosed are optical imaging agents suitable for in vivo imaging comprising the probes, as well as pharmaceutical compositions and kits, as well as in vivo imaging methods. |
