Summary:The present invention relates to wireless communication systems, and more particularly to a method and an apparatus for periodically reporting the buffer status in a wireless communication system. Methods and arrangements for an improved buffer status reporting taking the type of radio bearer configuration into account is provided. This is achieved according to an embodiment of the present invention by taking the type of radio bearer configuration into account when determining the content of the buffer status report sent by the UE to the eNodeB.
