Method for Producing Acetoacetic Acid Arylamides

Acetoacetic acid arylamides are produced from deketene and primary or secondary aromatic amines under the conditions of a reactive distillation in the presence of water. The continuous method provides a high purity of the products, nearly quantitative yields and a high rate of throughput.
