A message ( 180, 182 ) can be received from the remote unit that includes an authenticator identifier. Contextual information associated with the remote unit can be requested from an authenticator ASN ( 126 ) corresponding to the authenticator identifier. In another arrangement, the message received from the remote unit can include a data path identifier. Establishment of a bearer path connection for the remote unit can be requested from a foreign agent ( 162 ) corresponding to the data path identifier.
