Summary: | In one aspect, a method of performing electrostatic repulsion-hydrophilic interaction chromatography on a protein, peptide, or amino acid includes providing a column having an anion-exchange material at a pH of less than about 4, and eluting the compound using a mobile phase comprising an amount of organic solvent sufficient to substantially balance the electrostatic repulsion of the stationary phase with hydrophilic interaction. In another aspect, a method of performing electrostatic repulsion-hydrophilic interaction chromatography on a nucleic acid or nucleotide comprises providing a column having a cation-exchange material at a pH of less than about 3.4, and eluting the compound using a mobile phase comprising organic solvent sufficient to substantially balance the electrostatic repulsion of the stationary phase with hydrophilic interaction. |
