Summary: | The present invention relates to the use of, if appropriate present in the form of an aqueous dispersion, polymers of ethylenically unsaturated anionic monomers for modifying the rheology of aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous/alcoholic cosmetic or dermatological compositions. The polymers are obtainable by free-radical emulsion copolymerization of water-soluble inorganic monomers in aqueous phase in the presence of, in each case, at least one stabilizing polymer of groups a) and b). The emulsion polymers are exceptionally suitable for thickening cosmetic or dermatological preparations based either on water or on alcohols. |
