Summary: | The present invention relates to a method of thermally insulating the annular space ( 4 ) in an element ( 1 ) of an assembly of two coaxial pipes ( 2, 3 ), the space being filled with a porous thermally insulating material ( 5 ), in which method the following steps are performed: a) said pipe element ( 1 ) is inclined, preferably at an angle alpha of 5° to 30°, said annular space being closed at each end by respective closure pieces ( 13 a , 13 b); and b) substantially all of said annular space ( 4 ) is filled with said insulating material ( 5 ) in the form of particles in bulk; and c) preferably said particles of insulating material are shaken, at least intermittently, as the annular space is filled in order to compact said insulating material. |
