Summary:A temperature control system for a roller that is detachably mounted in a frame of an image forming apparatus includes a primary liquid circuit formed in the roller and containing a first liquid and a secondary liquid circuit formed outside of the roller and containing a second liquid. A heat exchanger is arranged to bring the primary and secondary liquid circuits into thermal contact with one another. The heat exchanger includes a first heat exchange member that is in thermal contact with the primary liquid circuit, and a second heat exchange member arranged on the stationary part to be in thermal contact with the secondary liquid circuit. A temperature control device controls the temperature of the second liquid. The first and second heat exchange members form heat transfer surfaces that are opposed to one another to permit heat transfer from one heat exchange member to the other heat exchange member.
