Liquid-crystalline medium

A liquid-crystalline medium based on a mixture of polar compounds having at least one compound of the formula I in which R11, R12 and have the meanings indicated in claim 1, is described. Also described is the use thereof for an active-matrix display based on the VA, ECB, PALC, FFS or IPS effect.
