Summary:The invention relates to a circuit and to a method for operating a lamp. In this case, a reactance for the purpose of detecting the lamp voltage, a zero point detection device for the purpose of determining the zero crossing of the current through the reactance and a current measuring device and, finally, a track-and-hold circuit triggered by the zero point detection device are used to measure the lamp current in such a way that the influence of parasitic capacitances is still ruled out.
