Summary: | A steer-by-wire system with a fail-safe mechanism is disclosed in which a clutch for the steer-by-wire system installed between a first shaft connected to a steering wheel and a second shaft connected to a steering gear is formed as a mechanism for bringing about wedgelike engagement of taper rollers by simple operation of turning an operating lever, so that when an abnormality detection sensor detects a defect in the steer-by-wire system, the clutch is operated through a clutch switching actuator to interconnect the first and second shafts and so as to make it possible to directly steer the steering gear. |
