Summary:A method for applying a seamless coating of a surface-modifying material to a product roller by transfer of the material to the product roller, from an application roller, to produce the seamless coating. Gravure rollers, slot dies, falling curtains or ribbons, jets and sprays may be used to deposit the material on the product roller. Dipping may also be used. Gravure rollers are preferred as the application roller. The coating is applied as a plurality of coatings, which are applied without drying the previous coating before application of a subsequent coating.
