Summary:A method for the diagnosis of a predisposition thereto, in a patient, comprising the steps of: (1) establishing the level of expression of a gene selected from the group consisting of PR domain containing 7 protein (PRDM7), CDT1 DNA replication factor (CDT1), charged multivesicular body protein 1/chromoatin modifying protein 1 (CHMP1), BTG3 associated nucleoprotein (BANP), BNO224, BNO36, BNO34, BNO208, BNO230 and BNO44; and (2) comparing expression of the gene to a baseline established from expression in normal tissue controls; wherein substantial variance from the baseline indicates that the patient is susceptible to cancer.
