Summary:The application describes a technique of synchronizing a digital video signal for transmitting it in the uncompressed form via a synchronous hierarchy network having its internal clock, by standard frames of the network. The technique comprises steps of obtaining the video signal as a Serial Digital Interface (SDI) signal having its initial video clock and presenting a succession of video frames, storing said video signal, using the video clock, in a buffer memory having capacity of one or more complete video frames, reading said video signal from the buffer memory using a transport clock derived from the internal clock of the synchronous hierarchy network.
