Summary:A dental implant guide arrangement accurately guides a bur for drilling a pilot or initial hole for a dental implant into the upper or lower jaw bone of an edentulous (toothless) patient. The arrangement includes jaws, pointed projections or other jaw bone ridge engagement structures which engage the ridge area of the upper or lower jaw bone to fix the arrangement in place. A preferably closed cylindrical guide channel is connected to the engagement structure and extends outwardly along and over the jaw bone ridge. The axis of the channel is parallel to an acceptable axis for the pilot or initial hole into the ridge. The bur can be guided along the guide channel for accurately drilling the hole. Another part of the arrangement is used after the initial hole is drilled to accurately space and orient subsequent implant hole in the jaw bone.
