Summary:A wireless sensing system uses heartbeat signals to monitor locations and usage information for assets. Heartbeat signals are signals transmitted periodically. However, in fast-paced environments, assets may move too quickly for heartbeat signals to provide useful information. In these and other scenarios, the wireless sensing system receives a first set of data describing signal strength between a tape node associated with an asset and a first node associated with a first portion of an area and a second set of data describing signal strength between the tape node associated with the asset and a second node associated with a second portion of the area. Based on relative signal strengths described by the received data, the wireless sensing system determines a path of the tape node associated with the asset.
