The frame module is constructed from a transport and/or storage unit, comprising side walls, a bottom wall and a roof wall. The unit is arranged to be positioned vertically such that said side walls, bottom wall and upper wall of the unit define an inner space of the elevator shaft. Elevator car guides for guiding movement of the elevator car in the elevator shaft element are attached to said bottom wall and/or roof wall.
