Summary:Disclosed are various techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, the time that a user equipment (UE) spends on performing positioning reference signal (PRS) measurements is reduced, by lengthening the PRS measurement period (P) and/or by reducing the PRS symbol duration (K). These modifications may be performed by the UE or by a location management server or other network node and may be made in consideration of the UE's mobility status and other environmental or operating conditions of the UE. In an aspect, a network entity may determine P and K to be used by the UE, and may indicate, to the UE, the P and the K to be used by the UE for measuring at least one PRS. The UE may then use the P and the K for measuring at least one PRS.
