Summary:Systems and methods for controlling a barrier are disclosed in which a barrier control component running on a server receives a first key and a request from a user device to provide a second key and a set of abilities to a second user device. The barrier control component retrieves information associated with first key, with the information indicating whether or not the first key is authorized to provide the second key and the set of abilities to the second device. When a review of the information regarding the first key indicates that the first key is appropriately authorized, the barrier control component provides the second key to the second device, and stores the set of abilities associated with the second key.
