Summary:Methods and systems for displaying query status information on a graphical user interface. One system includes an electronic computing device that includes one or more electronic processors communicatively coupled to a touch sensitive display. The one or more electronic processors are configured to read a gesture made on the touch sensitive display, generate a query based on the gesture, and display a displayed gesture on the touch sensitive display. The displayed gesture substantially encloses an area of the touch sensitive display. The one or more electronic processors are further configured to generate a response to the query, configure the area on the touch sensitive display substantially enclosed by the displayed gesture to be a button, receive an input indicating that the button has been touched, and output the response to the query.
