The cocoon-based, dental barrier membrane is manufactured by dividing a cocoon into two or more fragments in a predetermined form, the cocoon having a shell having a first thickness. The dental barrier membrane is biocompatible, has excellent tensile strength and porosity, and promotes osteogenesis in a bone defect.
