Summary:A support system includes supports and connection elements for interconnecting the supports. The supports are interconnected by plug connections. The interacting plug connection components that form the plug connection include at least one plug element and at least one plug receptacle. Each connection element is established on a support and has at least one plug connection component. The support system has first connection elements, the at least one plug connection component of which is disposed on a longitudinal side of the assigned support. The support system has second connection elements, the at least one plug connection component of which are disposed on an end side of the assigned support, and the second connection elements are selectively connectable to a first connection element or to a further second connection element. A system of connection elements includes first connection elements as well as second connection elements.
