Summary:Disclosed are a mobile terminal having a rollable touch screen, and a method of controlling the same. The mobile terminal includes: a touch screen configured to be rollable; a first body portion connected to a first end of the touch screen and configured to accommodate the touch screen in a rolled state; a second body portion connected to a second end of the touch screen; a sensing unit configured to sense at least one region of the touch screen exposed external to the first body portion; and a controller configured to cause the touch screen to display a first icon on a display region, the display region corresponding to the sensed at least one region, wherein the first icon corresponds to a first application which supports a screen ratio of the display region, wherein the first application is one of a plurality of applications installed at the mobile terminal.
