Summary: | The present disclosure relates to a source wire assembly for radiographic applications, particularly for guiding a gamma ray source through a tubular path, such as with a radiographic projector. The source wire assembly includes a core of flexible metal cable, such as, but not limited to, aircraft cable, which may include wires and/or strands which are woven, twisted, helix wound or braided. A distal end of the source wire assembly is securely engaged to a Radioactive source capsule assembly while a proximal end of the source wire assembly is securely engaged to a connector housing for connection to driving equipment, such as, but not limited to, a push-pull operation associated with a radiographic projector, which may include source wire locking and safety mechanisms. |
