Summary:The invention relates to a camera device (10), in particular as a parking assistance apparatus for a motor vehicle, comprising a drive (50) that is operatively connected to a camera (4) via transmission means, the camera (4) being movable between a retracted position (1) and a deployed position (2), and a carriage (11) that embraces the camera (4) and can move along with the camera (4). The transmission means are designed in such a way that the camera (4) can be manually actuated from outside (5) so as to be moved into an additional position (3) beyond the retracted position (1).
