Summary:Systems and methods for limiting a current operating speed of a vehicle are disclosed. A position of the vehicle relative to an abrupt road change in front of the vehicle and a current operating speed are determined. Information regarding a profile of the abrupt road change is detected. Based on the determined position and current operating speed, a brake torque output is adjusted to reduce the current operating speed. Based on the profile, suspension parameters associated with the vehicle are dynamically adjusted.
