Summary: | The present invention is a resin composition comprising a transparent resin, and inorganic particles having a surface modified by a modifying agent, wherein: the saturated water absorption rate of the transparent resin at 37°C is from 0.015 to 0.25 wt%; the average particle diameter of the inorganic particles is 20 nm or less, and the refractive index of the inorganic particles is at least 0.40 greater than the refractive index of the transparent resin; the modification rate of the modified inorganic particles is from 15 to 40 wt%; and the modifying agent is a compound represented by formula (1) which is R1-X (R1 represents a C12-18 hydrocarbon group, and X represents a functional group that forms a bond with the surface of the inorganic particle, or an atomic group including said functional group). Also disclosed are a resin molded article and an optical component obtained by using said resin composition. The present invention provides: a resin composition that has high refractivity, excellent transparency, and excellent workability, and that is useful as a material for a resin molded article that exhibits little dimensional change by water absorption; and a resin molded article and an optical component obtained by using said resin composition. |
