Summary: | The proposed method of biological analysis for determining toxicity of marine environment consists in determining and comparing the indicators of the oxidation of the blood serum proteins of fish selected from clean and controlled areas of the marine environment. The toxicity of the marine environment is directly proportional to the oxidation level of the proteins. The oxidation level is determined by precipitating the protein from the blood serum samples by using 20 % solution of trichloroacetic acid, adding 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone to the precipitate, incubating the precipitate, treating the precipitate by a centrifuge, washing the precipitate with ethanol ethyl acetate, drying the precipitate, dissolving the precipitate in urea solution, and determining the optical density of the solution. The volume of fish blood serum for the analysis is 0.05 ml. |
