Summary:A backlight module includes a light source assembly, a light-diffusing plate, at least one optical film and a back plate. The back plate is in the shape of a frame defined by multiple side walls and holds the light source assembly, the light-diffusing plate and the optical film in place. A first positioning structure is formed on top surfaces of the side walls and leans against each side of a display panel. A second positioning structure is formed on inner side surfaces of the side walls to hold the bottom of the light-diffusing plate and to lean against the top of the light-diffusing plate. A third positioning structure is formed on top surfaces of the side walls and engages with at least two sides of the optical film to position the optical film.
