Summary:An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained in the insulative housing and a shielding member covering the insulative housing. The insulative housing defines a receiving room for an object member. Each contact includes a retaining portion fixed in the insulative housing, a soldering portion extending from the retaining portion out of the insulative housing and a contacting portion extending from another part of the retaining portion into the receiving room. The shielding member comprises a plurality of lateral walls. The lateral walls form a plurality of protecting pieces facing towards the soldering portions of the contacts and keeping distance away from the sol-dering portions. The protecting pieces prevent the soldering portions from being damaged.
