Summary:This target irradiation system, which irradiates a solid target having a metal layer with a charged particle beam emitted from a particle accelerator, and generates a radioactive isotope of the metal layer, is provided with: a target irradiation device which is disposed inside a room provided in a building, holds the solid target at an irradiated position of the charged particle beam, and can irradiate the solid target with the charged particle beam; and a dissolution device which is disposed in the room, and dissolves the radioactive isotope attached to the solid target to which the charged particle beam has been irradiated by the target irradiation device.
