Summary: | An optical film which is a stretched film formed from a thermoplastic norbornene resin, and which is configured such that: the thermoplastic norbornene resin has a stress birefringence CR of more than 2,900 × 10-12 Pa-1 and a glass transition temperature Tg of 125°C or higher; and the ratio of the retardation Rth in the thickness direction to the thickness d of the optical film, namely Rth/d is 3.5 × 10- 3 or more. The present invention also provides: an optical multilayer body which is provided with this optical film; and a liquid crystal display device which is provided with this optical multilayer body. |
