In one embodiment, the IOT device activation method comprises: a point of sales (POS) front-end system receives entity object information and interaction account information corresponding to an IOT device; query, in the POS front-end system, network information of an entity object corresponding to the IOT device; generate a scan code on the basis of the entity object information, the interaction account information, and the network information of the entity object corresponding to the IOT device; and send the scan code, so that the IOT device obtains, by means of the scan code, the entity object information, the interaction account information, and the network information of the entity object corresponding to the IOT device for executing activation of the IOT device.
