Summary:A detecting device and a detecting method for a double cylinder engine are provided. The detecting device has a detection plate and a sensor. The detection plate has an annular body, a first detected portion and a second detected portion. An angle included between the first detected portion and the second detected portion in relation to a center of the detection plate is equal to an angle included between two cams of the double cylinder engine. The air intake of the two cylinders can be immediately measured by detecting positions of the first detected portion and the second detected portion through the sensor, and thus an injector can be executed timely.
