Summary:A process for producing a sheet glass which includes a forming step in which a molten glass is formed into a sheet glass, a cooling step in which the formed sheet glass is annealed to thereby form a sheet glass having a degree of heat shrinkage of 35 ppm or less, and a reannealing step in which the annealed sheet glass is subjected to a heat treatment in which the sheet glass is reheated and thereafter annealed, thereby reducing the degree of heat shrinkage to 10 ppm or less, wherein the heat treatment is conducted at a temperature lower by at least 70°C than the strain point of the sheet glass.
