Summary:An embodiment of the invention provides a charging station for a cleaning robot. The charging station comprises an infrared transmitter and a controller. The infrared transmitter outputs a first infrared light beam with a first boundary and a second boundary, wherein the first boundary is perpendicular to a plane of the charging station, and the cleaning robot moves to the charging station along the first boundary. The controller controls the infrared transmitter and when the controller determines that the cleaning robot is approaching to the charging station, the controller controls the infrared transmitter to output a second infrared light beam.
