Summary:Embodiments may provide a chemical sensor that includes a plurality of columns of chemically-sensitive pixels, a column interface circuit, and an analog-to-digital converter circuit. Each column of chemically-sensitive pixels may include a plurality of chemically-sensitive pixels formed in rows. Each chemically sensitive pixel may include a chemically-sensitive transistor and a row selection device. The row selection device may form a channel when a row selection line is activated and a gate voltage of the row selection device exceeds a threshold voltage. The channel may be diminished when the row selection line is deactivated. The column interface circuit may be coupled to the column of chemically-sensitive pixels and the analog-to-digital converter circuit may be coupled to the column interface circuit.
